Netra Privacy Policy

Netra is a product of Netra Security Inc., a company registered in the United States (registered address: 251 Little Falls Dr, Wilmington, Delaware, 19808-1674, United States). In this Privacy Policy, “Netra”, “we”, “us” or “our” refer to Netra Security Inc.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share and protect your personal information when you use Netra products and services, and what rights you have regarding your personal information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using our products or services. By accessing or using Netra, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, you should stop using Netra services.

Netra respects and protects the privacy of all users of our services. In order to provide you with accurate and personalized services, Netra will use and disclose your personal information only as described in this Privacy Policy.


I. How we collect and use your personal information

When you use Netra services, we will collect the information that you provide proactively and the information generated during your use of the services. We do this in order to provide services to you, optimize and improve our services, and protect the security of your account.

Some of this information (for example, your email address) may be considered sensitive personal information. If you choose not to provide such information, certain functions or services may not operate properly.

(a) Information we collect for network access and service provision

To implement access policies, ensure network quality, and maintain service stability and security, we may collect the following information:

  • IP address – used to determine access policies.

  • Login IP address – used to determine access policies and detect abnormal logins.

  • Device details – used to determine access policies and device compatibility.

  • Operating system – collected to identify your device environment and optimize service performance.

(b) Cookies and login information

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our platform. In particular, we use cookies to:

  • Remember your login status so that you do not need to re-enter your credentials each time;

  • Store your login username or email address in a secure and encrypted format.

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling cookies may affect certain features.

(c) Location information

We may collect location-related information such as:

  • Location inferred from your IP address;

  • GPS information or data from other device sensors (where you have granted permission).

We use this information in order to provide better service, for example, connecting you to the nearest and fastest server.

You can stop the collection of your geolocation information at any time by turning off the relevant permissions or device settings. Doing so will not affect your normal use of other Netra features, though some location-related optimizations may not be available.

(d) Device and system information during registration and use

When you register for and use Netra services, we may collect information such as:

  • Information about your installed software;

  • Disk file information and running process information;

  • Other diagnostic information related to device operation.

We collect this information to help:

  • Operate and improve our technology and services;

  • Adjust our business strategies to better serve you;

  • Enhance the security of your Netra account and protect it from misuse.

(e) Technical and log information necessary to provide the service

To ensure the normal and secure operation of our services, we may collect:

  • Device model and operating system;

  • Unique device identifiers (a string of characters programmed by the device manufacturer that uniquely identifies your device);

  • Login IP address;

  • Netra version number;

  • Mode, type and status of network access;

  • Network quality data;

  • Data from device sensors (for example, accelerometer / gravity sensor);

  • Operation logs and service logs (for example, information about your in-app operations such as searches, clicks and viewing activities).

This information is necessary for:

  • Providing and maintaining core service functions;

  • Improving and optimizing user experience;

  • Safeguarding the security of your account and our systems.

(f) Internet connection records

When you use Netra’s internet connection features, relevant operation records may be stored on our servers, as such storage is required to provide these features.

We will store this information in encrypted form. You may delete these records at any time, unless we are required to retain them under applicable laws and regulations. We do not provide this information externally or use it for purposes other than the functions described in this Policy.

(g) Situations where we may collect and use information without your additional consent

In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, we may collect and use your personal information without your prior additional consent in the following circumstances:

  1. Where it is necessary for us to fulfil our obligations under laws and regulations;

  2. Where it is directly related to national security or national defense;

  3. Where it is directly related to public safety, public health or major public interests;

  4. Where it is directly related to criminal investigations, prosecutions, trials or enforcement of judgments;

  5. Where it is necessary to protect the life, property or other significant legitimate rights and interests of you or others, and it is difficult to obtain your consent in a timely manner;

  6. Where the personal information involved has been voluntarily disclosed to the public by you;

  7. Where it is necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract at your request;

  8. Where the personal information is obtained from lawfully and publicly disclosed information, such as lawful news reports or government information disclosure;

  9. Where it is necessary to maintain the safe and stable operation of our products or services, such as detecting and handling product or service failures.

(h) New functions and services

Our features and services are continuously updated. If a new feature or service is not covered by this Privacy Policy and requires the collection of your personal information, we will separately explain the content, scope, and purpose of the information collection through page prompts, interactive processes, website announcements, or other appropriate means, and obtain your consent where required.

(i) Personal information obtained from third parties

At present, Netra does not actively obtain your personal information from third parties outside Netra Security Inc.

If we need to obtain your personal information indirectly from a third party in the future for business development:

  • We will clearly inform you of the source, type, and scope of use of your personal information before obtaining it;

  • If our processing activities exceed the scope of your original authorized consent given to the third party, we will obtain your explicit consent before such processing; and

  • We will strictly comply with applicable laws and regulations and require third parties to ensure the legality of the information they provide.


II. How we protect and store your personal information

(a) Transfer and disclosure

As a general principle, Netra will not transfer or disclose your personal information to any third party except in the following circumstances:

  1. It is required by applicable laws and regulations, or requested by judicial or governmental authorities;

  2. It is necessary to complete a merger, demerger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer involving our business;

  3. It is necessary to provide the services you request (for example, sharing information with service providers strictly for the purpose of providing Netra services to you);

  4. It is otherwise permitted under this Privacy Policy or other agreements you have entered into with us.

The specific rules on sharing and public disclosure are further described in Section IV below.

(b) Storage location and cross-border transfers

Netra is headquartered in the United States. For customers located in the United States, your personal information will generally be processed and stored in the United States. For customers located outside the United States, we may process and store your personal information in the country or region where you are located or in other countries, and we will do so in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.

If your personal information is transferred to, stored in, or accessed from a country or region with different data protection laws than those in your jurisdiction, we will take appropriate measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws (for example, by using contractual protections where required).

(c) Storage period

We will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including:

  • Email account: whether you log in via your email account or have already created a Netra account, we need to verify your email (including the initially registered email and any bound email) in order to provide Netra services and ensure secure access.

  • When you log out (close) your Netra account, we will delete or anonymize your associated personal information, unless we are required to retain it by law or for dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or security purposes.


III. How we keep your information secure

(a) Technical and organizational measures

We make reasonable efforts to protect your personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. For example:

  • We use encryption technologies (such as SSL), data anonymization and other technical measures to protect personal information in transit and at rest;

  • We continuously improve the security of the Netra client software to prevent unauthorized access to your personal information;

  • In some cases, we perform local encryption of certain information on your device before secure transmission.

To prevent viruses, malware or other malicious programs or websites, we may need to be aware of information about:

  • Applications installed on your device;

  • Running processes;

  • Data hosted in your device’s memory.

This information is used solely for security checks and protection.

To prevent fraud, account takeover, identity impersonation and other unlawful acts, and to perform security checks, we may analyze data such as:

  • Unique device identifiers;

  • Login IP addresses;

  • Operation logs;

  • Geolocation information;

for the purpose of implementing security measures and generating security alerts.

We have established dedicated management systems, procedures and teams to protect information. For example, we:

  • Strictly limit the scope of people who can access personal information;

  • Require them to comply with strict confidentiality obligations;

  • Conduct audits and monitoring of access to personal information.

(b) Security certifications and standards

We design and operate our security program to align with recognized information security management standards (such as ISO/IEC 27001) and other applicable industry best practices.

While we will do our best to protect your personal information, no security measure is perfect. You understand and agree that we cannot guarantee absolute security of information.

(c) Handling security incidents

In the event of a security incident such as a personal information breach, we will:

  • Promptly initiate emergency response plans;

  • Take necessary measures to stop the incident from expanding;

  • Inform you of the relevant situation as required by law, for example via email, in-product notifications, announcements, or other appropriate means; and

  • Where required by law, report the incident to the competent authorities.


IV. How we share or publicly disclose your information

(a) Sharing with partners and third parties

We will not share information that directly identifies you personally (such as your name or email address) with partners, unless:

  • We have obtained your explicit authorization or consent, or

  • Sharing is necessary for providing the services you request (for example, sharing limited information with cloud service providers or telecommunications providers who support our services).

Except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy, we will not provide your personal information to any third party without your explicit consent.

As our business continues to develop, we may engage in transactions such as mergers, acquisitions or asset transfers. In such cases:

  • We will inform you of the relevant situation, where required by law; and

  • We will require the new controller to continue to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy or a comparable policy. If the new controller needs to change the original purpose or method of processing, they will again seek your consent where required by law.

(b) Sharing, transfer or public disclosure without prior consent

In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, we may share, transfer or publicly disclose personal information without obtaining prior consent from you in the following situations:

  1. Where it is necessary to perform our obligations under laws and regulations;

  2. Where it is directly related to public safety, public health or major public interests;

  3. Where it is directly related to criminal investigations, prosecutions, trials or enforcement of judgments;

  4. Where it is necessary to protect the life, property and other significant legitimate rights and interests of you or other individuals, and it is difficult to obtain your consent in a timely manner;

  5. Where the personal information is disclosed to the public by you;

  6. Where personal information is collected from lawfully and publicly disclosed information, such as lawful news reports, government information disclosure or other public channels.


V. Your rights

During your use of Netra, we provide you with convenient mechanisms to exercise your rights in relation to your personal information, including:

  • Access: you can access and view certain personal information that we hold about you through the relevant product interfaces;

  • Correction: if you find that your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, you can correct or update it through account settings or by contacting us;

  • Deletion: in certain circumstances, you can request the deletion of your personal information, for example where it is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing, or where you have withdrawn your consent (if applicable);

  • Withdrawal of consent: where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time. However, withdrawal does not affect processing conducted prior to withdrawal or processing based on other legal grounds;

  • Account cancellation: you may apply to cancel your Netra account. After cancellation, we will delete or anonymize your personal information except where retention is required by law or for dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or security purposes.

We have established complaint and reporting channels. If you have any questions, comments or complaints, you can contact us using the methods provided in Section IX. We will handle your feedback in a timely manner in accordance with applicable laws.

Please note that operating settings may differ between operating systems and Netra versions. We may also adjust relevant operations from time to time in order to optimize your experience.


VI. How we handle information about minors

We take the protection of minors’ personal information very seriously.

In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, if you are under 18 years of age, you should obtain the prior consent of your parent or legal guardian before using Netra services.

If you are the guardian of a minor and have any questions about the personal information of the minor under your care, or believe that we may have collected such information without your consent, please contact us using the details in Section IX. We will handle your request in accordance with applicable laws and this Privacy Policy.


VII. How this policy is updated

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. When the terms of this Policy change, we will, as appropriate:

  • Publish the updated Privacy Policy in the application or on our website; and

  • Where the changes are material, we may provide you with more prominent notice (for example via pop-up prompts, push notifications or other means).

In such cases, you may be required to re-read and confirm the updated Privacy Policy. Continued use of Netra services after the updated Policy takes effect means that you accept the revised terms.


VIII. Other notes

This Privacy Policy is a general privacy policy that applies uniformly to Netra. The user rights and information security measures set out in this Policy apply to all Netra users.

If there is any inconsistency between this Privacy Policy and other specific terms or notices presented to you for particular features, those specific terms or notices will prevail for that feature, to the extent of the inconsistency.
